Lunenburg is one of the best-preserved old towns on the continent — a hillside of painted wooden houses above a harbour that's been building ships for two and a half centuries. Most people come for the waterfront and never make it past it.
They should. Past the last row of houses there's a loop around the back harbour, a rail-trail to the next town over, colour-blazed paths in the woods, and a wild beach down the coast.
